Soundtrack to the GameCube game Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles. The beginning and ending themes were translated into and sung in English for the U.S. release of the game. The English version of the opening theme can be found on the promo CD Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: A Musical Journey. I played the first half of this game somewhat extensively, so I was able to identify many of the tracks and where they played in the game.

First pressing: Everything is the same as the Square Enix version, except it comes with a strange "liquid case," which is just a thick plastic sleeve that wraps around the jewel case like a book cover does. It has an enlarged, close-up shot of the chalice. Within the plastic is a gel meant to simulate myrrh. (If you've played the game, you know what I'm talking about. ^_^ ) Comes with an obi.

Square Enix version: Comes in a standard-sized jewel case with obi. The inside tray flips up to hold both CDs. The liner notes the tracklist in Japanese (kana); messages from composer Kumi Tanioka; Hidenori Iwasaki, music programming and arrangement; and Garyu Matsumoto (Roba House), ancient instruments; a profile of Yae; and notes on the "ancient instruments" used in the making of the music -- recorder, crumhorn, pan pipe, rackett, shawm, gemshorn, serpent, bagpipe, mute cornet, portative organ, psaltery, bowed psaltery, santur, saz, lute, renaissance guitar, hurdy gurdy, daf, Jews harp and the tenor drum. Also includes lyrics to "Kaze no ne" and "Hoshizukiyo." Disc 1 is white; disc 2 is turquoise.
