Contains arranged versions of certain songs from Final Fantasy VI for the Super Nintendo (Super Famicom). The game was released in the U.S. as Final Fantasy III for the SNES. The game has had several re-releases, but I believe the music doesn't change from game to game. However, in the Anthology release, there is some extra music during the FMV scenes that is not found on any soundtrack.
Squaresoft version: Liner notes include: tracklist in English; art of Relm by Yoshitaka Amano next to the tracklist; lyrics to the Aria in Italian and Japanese (kana); a message from Nobuo Uematsu; and 12 small photos on one page of what I assume are the recording sessions. The pictures show various orchestra musicians, Uematsu, and others. The CD is a dark pink/magenta color. The CD tray is clear plastic, and underneath the tray is a picture of the "Final Fantasy VI: Grand Finale" logo and Amano art of Celes. The left spine of the cover has the CD's name printed in Roman characters, while the right spine has the name printed in katakana.
SonMay version: The skimpy two-page liner notes include the tracklist in English; Amano art of Relm; and lyrics to the Aria in Italian and kana. That's all. The CD is also a magenta color. Also comes with a sticker with the FF6 logo and "Original Sound Version" on it, and a customer survey printed in Chinese.
EverAnime version: The liner notes content is the same as the SS version, except the reproduction is very blurry. Also, the liner notes ni the particular copy I have are very badly cut; I have to practically force them back into the jewel case. The CD has a picture of the liner notes cover printed on it. Both left and right spines have the CD name printed in katakana.
Interesting notes:
- On the SM version, the words "NTT Pub." are printed on both spines of the jewel case. Giving credit to the original publishing company for once? ^_~
- The date of release on the Squaresoft re-release is listed as 11/26/94 (the date of the original Squaresoft release), although it was actually re-released on 10/1/04.
