Domestic version: The fold-out liner notes have lyrics to "The Dream Within" and "Spirit Dreams Inside," color shots from the movie, and a message from composer Elliot Goldenthal. Includes a preview video of the Final Fantasy 10 game that you can view by popping the CD in your computer. The PS2 apparently can't play this trailer, because it doesn't show up when I put the CD into a PS2.

Japanese version: The fold-out liner notes have completely different pictures from the domestic U.S. version -- Aki, Gray, Hein (I think), and Sid in black-and-white; and a shot of Aki's back, a picture of the world that Aki sees in her dream, a shot of DNA-type strands and the hunter robots in color (can't remember what they were called). They also include the same song lyrics and message from Goldenthal that the U.S. version has, all in English. This version also has a separate liner notes booklet that translates the tracklist, the song lyrics, and Goldenthal's message into Japanese (kana). That second booklet also includes a whole mess of other text in Japanese that I have no idea what it says.

The disc has a preview of the "Spirits Within" movie that you can watch by putting the CD in your computer -- be aware that it will try to run setup.exe when you insert the disc, and the resulting setup menu is all in Japanese, which apparently my computer can't display properly so I have no clue what the buttons are. My suggestion for Windows users is go to the Computer icon, then right-click the icon for the CD and Open it -- if you double-click the CD, it will run setup.exe -- then play "FF.mov" in your QuickTime player (Windows Media Player can't seem to read it). For Macs, simply double-click the CD icon on your desktop and play FF.mov in the same way. You can also find some pictures in other folders on the CD; unfortunately, I can't figure out how to open 3 of the 4 files in the "PICTURES" folder, which seem to be shots of the liner notes. If anyone knows how, please let me know!

Hong Kong version: Liner notes have lyrics to "The Dream Within" and "Spirit Dreams Inside," still shots from the movie, and a message from composer Elliot Goldenthal. Most of the pictures are in black-and-white, except for two color panels. The pictures in the liner notes, on the CD, and under the CD tray are different from the domestic version. Front cover is generally the same as the domestic version, but the spines and back cover are different from the domestic one. Includes MPEG trailer of the movie that you can view by putting the CD in your computer.

Indonesian version: Liner notes are mostly black-and-white, except for four color panels. Includes lyrics to one of the extra songs, "Bila saja kau disini." The CD also comes with two pocket calendars. (Thanks to Calli for this info! ^_^ )

Interesting notes:

The Hong Kong version lists an extra track, titled "Screaming" and performed by Hong Kong artist Candy Lo. The song's true name is in Chinese, but I can't read it. The HK version is currently on sale at Yesasia.com (posted 5/17/02).
The Indonesian version lists two extra songs that are exclusive to that CD. (Thanks to Calli for this info! ^_^ )
