Contains piano versions of selected FF11 tunes. This is DIFFERENT from the piano collections found in the FF11 soundtrack Premium Box. Check out Square Enix's site for more on this CD (in Japanese). There is also an official piano score released by Yamaha.

    First pressing:

Comes with a slipcase. Does NOT come with an obi. Interestingly enough, the back of the slipcase lists the game names by their official English names. Liner notes have the tracklist in English; a message from producer Naoshi Mizuta; a close-up picture of sheet music; a picture of who I assume is Mizuta with piano performers Ayumi Iga and Kasumi Oga; a picture of two pairs of hands playing the piano; and a couple of close-ups of whatever the creatures are on the CD cover. Also comes with a Square Enix point card.

According to CD Japan, the first pressing included a flyer with a promotional code that you entered in the game for a special item, which Ramza on the STC forums said was a harpischord for your Mog House (which does explain all those harps that you see on Square Enix's page for this CD). I'm not sure if only the first pressings have this code, however.

Interesting note: This CD kicked off Square Enix's "Final Fantasy XI Soundtrack Campaign." The campaign began when FF11 PC was released and included all previously released FF11-related CDs. According to Amazingu at the STC forums, certain pressings of the CDs came with a 1-point sticker that you would affix to a postcard that you downloaded from SE's site. You needed 2 stickers on each postcard. Then you sent it in, postmarked by 9/1/08, and were entered into a drawing for an FF11-branded MP3 player, which came in eight different colors. (Image of MP3 players shamelessly taken from Square Enix's site.)

Aside from the fact that these campaigns are usually limited to residents of Japan only, this sucked even more for people like me who bought the CDs when they first came out, because NONE of the CD pressings that were released before the FF11 PC had the point stickers. That meant that you'd have to buy the CD AGAIN if you wanted the sticker. And I don't think I'm THAT insane yet. ^_~
