Contains orchestrated versions of music from the Seiken Densetsu game, which was released as Final Fantasy Adventure in the U.S. This CD had only one print run and does not have a 1994 reprint by itself. However, the songs on this and the Seiken Densetsu OST were collected into one CD, entitled Final Fantasy Adventure Sound Collections, and reprinted in 1994.

This CD comes up for auction on Yahoo Japan every so often, so you may want to check there if you'd like to get this CD. Do a search for "Seiken Densetsu" in hiragana. Read my YJ tutorial for more.

Interesting notes: Forum member Hitori on Soundtrack Central had an interesting theory on this album's title. The actual Japanese title is "Omoi wa shirabe ni nosete," and long ago, before I knew any Japanese, I went by what others translated it as -- to "Let thoughts ride on knowledge." However, after I learned more of the language, I re-translated the title literally as "Let sentiments be carried by music" -- "omoi" is sentiment or feeling; "shirabe" is music; "nosete" is the command form of the verb "noseru," which means "to carry"; and the particle "ni" marks "shirabe" as a giver or, in this case, a carrier. Hence, "Let sentiments be carried by music."

Hitori says he's discovered that "shirabe" can mean "melody" or "the composition or performance of music." And "noseru" can mean "to accompany musically." So his new translation of the title is "Setting passion (feelings) to music."

As an added twist, I emailed a native Japanese speaker about the title, and she translated it along the same lines as my original one.

I can't say who is right or wrong; for all we know, both might be true, in order to create a pun on the name. I guess the only way to find out the truth would be to ask the CD's composers and arrangers. If anyone out there reading this has a link to them, this would certainly be an interesting thing to ask them.

I was told that the obi for this CD has the title "Let Thoughts Ride On Knowledge" printed in English. However, I myself don't have the obi, nor have I ever seen it included with CDs put up for auction, so I'm questioning the accuracy of this information.
